1. Zipper Terminology

Forth and back head tape.
Head tape is the part of zipper without teeth(it has two parts: 1. forth head tape, which is the tip oftop stop; 2. back head tape, which is the tip of bottomstop.)

Top stop
An element which is fixed on top of the chain restrictssliders moving away.

Slider
It is a movable component which makes teeth closeand open.

Puller
It is part of slider which can be designed in all kindsof geometry shapes and connects with slider throughmiddle component to achieve zippers’ on / off

Teeth
Teeth are made of metal or plastic elements and havecertain shapes after processing.

Tape
A soft belt, which is made of cotton yarn and syntheticfiber, is used for bearing teeth and other components.

Botom stop
An element which is fixed on the bottom of chainrestricts sliders moving away.

4. Zipper Strength Test Method

Slider tab pull off strength (90 degree)
Tension force is applied to both the pull-tab and thebottom of the body of an assembled slider. In additionto the 90° angle shown, a 45° angle is also tested.(Tensile Testing Machine Speed: 100 mm/min)
Top stop holding strength
The lower part of an engaged zipper is heldsecurely, then the slider pulled to the top is pulledfurther up.
Separating unit crosswise strength
The slider lock is engaged in the middle of a chain,then each side of the chain is pulled outwards inopposite directions.
Chain crosswise strength (per 2.5cm)
An engaged zipper chain is pulled crosswise asshown at a constant speed.
Bottom stop holding strength
The slider is pulled down to the bottom stop,and each side of the chain is pulled outwards inopposite directions.
Slider lock strength
The slider lock is engaged in the middle of a chain,then each side of the chain is pulled outwards inopposite directions.

Non-Lock slider (DF)
A slider without a locking function at any positionof the pull tab.
Double Ket Slider
A secure slider that can connect a locking device.
Double pull
A slider with pull tabs attached on both sides.
(Available in both automatic-lock and non-locktypes.)
Automatic slider(DA)
A slider that automatically locks
when force isreleased from the pull tab.
Plastic slider(TA)
A plastic automatic-lock slider.Available in two types:
with a metal lockingcomponent or a plastic locking component.
Reversible slider(DU)
A two-way automatic-lock slider with pull tabsattached on both front and back sides.
It can move in both directions and has automaticlocking functions on both sides.
